First Visit

While out shopping for children's clothes at the Homeplus Paju Unjeong branch, we decided to grab a meal at 'Nipong Naepong', a fusion jjamppong & pizza restaurant.

Signage for Nipong Naepong

This was our first visit to this restaurant chain, which originated from the Konkuk University main branch in 2011, followed by the Garosu-gil branch in 2012. Now, they boast more than 100 stores nationwide.

As a fusion of jjamppong and pizza, two foods that typically do not pair together, this restaurant seemed an intriguing choice.

Surroundings of Nipong Naepong

The interior of the restaurant is somewhat compact.

Our family, arriving during peak mealtime, was required to wait.

Menu variety is impressive. Mong Pong Siri, a fusion dish of Jjambbong, comes in 10 varieties. There are 5 types of pizza including Ni-Pizza and Na-Pizza. Other offerings include fried rice and risotto, providing options suitable for children.

My wife and I decided on one jjamppong, cream bulgogi risotto for our child, and Ni Pizza (Sweet Potato Pizza). It is worth noting that you can add toppings to your ordered food, or even additional noodles.

Taste

Chappong Stage 1

Chappong is a dish similar to jjambbong, served with spicy soup.

Cream Bulgogi Risotto

Cream Bulgogi Risotto not only suits children's tastes, but adults will find it enjoyable too.

Although it might not look highly appealing, the taste is satisfying.

Nipizza (sweet potato)

Then came the unexpected delight - Nipizza Sweet Potato Pizza

The sweet potato pizza was outstanding.

Admittedly, I entered this restaurant without high expectations, but the pizza pleasantly surprised me.

Price Satisfaction

The prices are quite reasonable.

Chappong costs 8,500 KRW,

Cream Bulgogi Risotto is priced at 10,500 KRW,

and Nipizza (sweet potato) is 10,900 KRW.

Food I ordered

In total, ordering these three dishes cost less than 30,000 KRW, specifically, 29,900 KRW.

Would Visit Again

I was skeptical about the harmony between jjambbong and pizza, but this restaurant proved it could work. Even though I'm writing this review a month after the visit, I now find myself craving their Nipizza.
